[ARCHIVED] Curbside Recycling Paper/Cardboard

What's Changing?

The City recently amended the solid waste collection & disposal contract with Meridian Waste.  Beginning September 9, residents can again recycle paper/cardboard (Fibers) via curbside pickup. Residents now have the option for both RIGIDS and FIBER dual-stream recycling at the curb, so that means residents will have two separate recycling containers collected every week.

Residents can use their existing recycling cart for RIGIDS (aluminum, metal, plastics) and will receive a second cart for FIBER (paper, cardboard). You have until August 10 to make your cart size selection or opt out of receiving a second cart for FIBER. There will be a $1.00/month program fee for every resident regardless of if they opt out of receiving a FIBER cart.

Glass is not accepted in the curbside recycling program due to it being a common contaminant in the recycling stream. You can still recycle glass at your nearest recycling center.

Customize Your Recycling

Please select your cart at MeridianWaste.com/PickMyCart/Lake-Saint-Louis/ by August 10. If you do not OPT OUT or select your cart by August 10, Meridian Waste will re-sticker your current 65-gallon RIGIDS cart to be your FIBER cart, and we will deliver a 35-gallon cart with a RIGIDS sticker on it to your residence.

Cart Delivery: Your new recycling cart will be delivered in August, and you will notice a FIBER sticker with recycling instructions on your new cart. Please note: if you make your cart selection after August 10, there may be a delay in your cart delivery.
