2015 Construction Codes

The City of Lake Saint Louis, in an effort to ensure its residents and visitors are provided with a built environment that is up-to-date and safe, has adopted revised construction codes.

List of Codes

The current codes are:

  • 2014 National Electrical Code
  • 2015 International Building Code
  • 2015 International Energy Conservation Code
  • 2015 International Existing Building Code
  • 2015 International Fire Code
  • 2015 International Fuel Gas Code
  • 2015 International Mechanical Code
  • 2015 International Plumbing Code
  • 2015 International Property Maintenance Code
  • 2015 International Residential Code
  • 2015 International Swimming Pool and Spa Code

Developed on a national level, these codes provide the best compendium of construction requirements and standards presently available. These construction codes are revised and new versions published every three years.  Adoption of these updated construction codes makes Lake Saint Louis construction requirements substantially the same as those of neighboring jurisdictions in St. Charles County.

Enforcement

The requirements of the current codes will be enforced for construction associated with construction permits issued after January 1st, 2018.

Copies

A copy of each code book and the adopting Ordinance, with local modifications, are available for inspection at the City Clerk’s office in the Lake Saint Louis Civic Center.
