Adult Day Trips

Come on out and explore some of Missouri's best attractions. These trips (for adults aged 40 or better) include tours, plays, cultural activities and more. Please note that tours will vary between day or evening trips and may/ may not include lunch/dinner with the ticket price.  

Pick up location will be at Lake Saint Louis City Hall.

Spring into the Season

Spring into a day full of flowers and gardening as we emerge ourselves onto the beauty of spring. First, we will have a docent-guided tour at the Missouri Botanical Gardens learning and viewing much of the 79 acres of bright buds and blossoms. We will then enjoy some exquisite American Cuisine at Piccadilly’s on Manhattan. After lunch, we will head over to Frisella Nursery and explore their many rows of bright Blooms! Be prepared to get your hands dirty and create your own flower container to take home! This trip will include plenty of walking. Dress comfortably. Registration deadline is APR 12th.

Murder in Jackson!

There’s something peculiar going on in Southern Missouri! Watch the betrayal as we head to Jackson, Missouri for a Murder Mystery Dinner along the Iron Mountain Railway. We will begin our trip with a quick jaunt through the historic district of Jackson with a history tour and some local boutique shopping. Then we will head over the St Louis Iron Mountain and Southern Railway for a quick wine tasting and live show over dinner on a moving train! Registration deadline is MAY 4.

Arch Tour and Riverboat Dinner Cruise

Join us as we tour the recently renovated Museum of Westward Expansion at the Gateway Arch. The museum now features six new galleries that highlight the history of the West. Once you finish exploring the museum, you will be able to take the tram to the top of the 630-foot tall monument. After the museum, we will board a riverboat for an adventure down the Mighty Mississippi on the Skyline Dinner Cruise. The view of the St. Louis skyline in the evening features the illuminated Gateway Arch and silhouettes of the city’s vibrant nightlife. Listen to live music, while indulging in a delicious dinner menu. Meal options will be selected closer to the trip date. Moderate walking.

Wild Animal Adventure

Down Yonder!-Animal Adventure and Caverns

Take a trip down South as we go to the Wild Animal Adventure Park in Sullivan. Here you will see lions, reptiles, emus, a white tiger and more. You will take part in feedings, playing with the dingoes and holding a reptile or two. After this lively visit we will head over for a buffet lunch and guided tour at Meramec Caverns where we can keep cool from the summer heat at an average temp of 58 degrees underground! This trip involves a lot of walking and good tennis shoes are recommended.

Mount Pleasant Winery

Come visit the oldest and most well established winery in the Augusta Appellation. Foundedin 1859 by German brothers, George and Frederick Muench, this winery saw many years ofprosperity before it was forced to close during prohibition in 1920. Since it’s restoration in1966, visitors have enjoyed prestigious, award winning wines and spectacular views of theMissouri River Valley. An experienced guide will take us on a tour of the Mount PleasantEstates, their many historic buildings, as we learn about the early winemaking techniques.After the tour we will enjoy lunch and live music through the afternoon. Begin the trip with a tour of the Living History Farm and Museum. Located on 200acres, within city limits, this living history farm tour will guide you through the first settlement village area of the Farm in an open-air tram tour. After the tour relax and enjoy a delicious Deluxe German lunch served at the famous WurstHaus. Lunch will include a spread of German Brats with house-made rustic German potato salad and braised red cabbage plus more. After lunch, enjoy a guided tour of the underground cellars at Stone Hill Winery and enjoy a wine tasting of award-winning wines.
